Onsite learning at Deriv Cyberjaya with INTI University's IT Society
Students gain insight at Deriv Cyberjaya
On 6 July 2024, Deriv Cyberjaya welcomed students from the INTI International University’s IT Society for a special visit to our headquarters. This visit marks the first of its kind since moving into the new premises in 2022. Deriv Cyberjaya aimed to provide a unique, immersive opportunity to future tech innovators. The students experienced firsthand the inner workings of a tech company, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice while fostering valuable networking connections.
Onsite technical training by the Deriv team
Hanis, our MC, started the event with fun and engaging activities to keep the students energised and attentive. These activities were repeated throughout the session, adding an interactive element to the event. Our Front-end (FE), Back-end (BE), and Quality Assurance (QA) teams provided comprehensive presentations, addressing topics such as the structure of our teams, the teams’ key responsibilities, tools used, and current projects. Each team had a 30-minute presentation followed by a Q&A session, where students actively engaged with the presenters. The FE team gave a live demo, the BE team showed a diagram of their architecture, and the QA team presented a recorded demo.
Exploring Deriv Cyberjaya office
After the presentations, we conducted an office tour, breaking the students into smaller groups of 5–7 people. Each group was led by a Deriv staff member who showed them around each floor and the rooftop. The students were particularly impressed with the themed interior design of the building, especially the two wings aptly named London and Japan, and took numerous photos and videos. After the tour, we provided our attendees with lunch, and as a parting gift, we gave each student a Deriv goodie bag.
