Deriv retains IIP Platinum accreditation during AI-first transformation

Cyberjaya, Malaysia, 24 February 2026 – Leading online trading platform, Deriv, has retained its Investors in People (IIP) Platinum accreditation, the highest tier awarded by the global benchmarking standard for people management.

The re-accreditation follows a comprehensive reassessment against IIP's We invest in people framework. Deriv sits in the top 6% of platinum-accredited organisations globally, ranking 8th in the Financial and Insurance Activities sector and 6th in Tech and IT.

In 2025, Deriv embarked on a company-wide transformation to become an AI-first business, implementing automation across all operations and fundamentally reshaping how teams work. The company also scaled its technical workforce through AI hackathons that attracted thousands of developers in Dubai and Malaysia.

"Retaining Platinum accreditation during a period of active AI transformation tells us that investing in your people and investing in technology are not competing priorities. Our teams are navigating significant change, and this recognition confirms they feel supported, trusted, and empowered through that process," said Seema Hallon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Deriv.

Paul Devoy, CEO of IIP commented, "An organisation retaining their Platinum status is always a standout achievement within the IIP community, and to achieve that during a period of major organisational transformation is a fantastic reflection of their commitment to people-centric change.

By prioritising transparency, upskilling and involvement, Deriv ensured their innovative approach fosters engagement rather than creates fatigue. Deriv's achievement demonstrates that when people feel trusted and part of the journey, transformation drives success as well as progress."

Central to Deriv's approach has been bringing its people along on the transformation journey. Deriv has invested in upskilling programmes across departments, prioritised a transparent approach to AI adoption, pairing engineers with teams to ensure seamless integration across the company.

"Achieving Platinum once is meaningful. Retaining it through a period of organisational change is what I'm most proud of," Hallon added.

Deriv first achieved IIP Gold accreditation in 2022 and was elevated to Platinum status in December 2023.

The accreditation assesses organisations against nine core indicators that include leading, supporting and improving, evaluating how effectively companies develop their people, build trust, create a sense of purpose, and drive sustainable high performance.
