Let’s discuss Market Watch, your personal trading hub on Deriv MT5. Think of it as your dashboard, where you can track price movements, analyze assets, and make informed decisions in real-time.

We’re focusing on the full-featured Deriv MT5 desktop terminal, but don’t worry. The core principles remain the same whether you use the web or mobile version!

Market Watch: Your one-stop trading hub

Market Watch displays real-time quotes for all the assets you can trade on Deriv MT5. That includes forex, stocks, commodities, and Deriv’s Derived Indices. Think of it like a stock ticker but customized just for you.

Exploring Market Watch: Key features

Custom symbols tab: Your trading menu

This is the first thing you’ll see when you open Market Watch. It’s a list of all the instruments you can trade, like a menu at a restaurant, except instead of meals, you’re picking markets! You can also:

  • Add or remove instruments based on your trading interests.
  • Customize columns to display valuable data like spreads (the difference between buying and selling prices).

Details tab: The deep dive

Before you jump into a trade, check out the Details tab. It gives you key info about a specific instrument, including:

  • Opening and closing prices
  • Daily highs and lows
  • Other market data to help you strategize

Trading tab: Time to make your move

This is where you execute trades. Enter the amount you want to trade, hit buy or sell, and you’re in the market! Bonus: You can preview your potential profit or loss before confirming your trade.

Ticks tab: The fast lane

The Ticks tab is a go-to for traders who thrive on quick movements. It shows rapid price changes (ticks) for your selected instrument—like watching the market's heartbeat in real-time.

Symbol specification: Know your asset

Want to go even deeper? Symbol specification provides extra details like:

  • Contract size
  • Swap rates (overnight fees)
  • Trade hours and more
