From finish lines to life lines: Deriv's November

As the year draws to a close, Deriv teams worldwide have been actively giving back to their communities through health initiatives, educational support, and life-changing medical interventions.
National chess tournament, Vanuatu

Deriv sponsored the National Chess Tournament in Vanuatu, bringing together talented players from across the country to showcase their strategic skills and passion for the game. Members of the Deriv team volunteered their time and energy to help make the tournament a success, supporting the company's commitment to empowering critical thinking and community development.
Life-changing cleft lip surgery

Back in March, Deriv assisted Kwan with his first surgery. On 4 November, the second corrective procedure was completed. The two surgeries have enabled Kwan to eat normally and, for the first time, begin learning to speak, offering a transformative new start in life.
Fun run, Cyberjaya

On 19 November, Deriv organised a Fun Run in Cyberjaya featuring 10km and 5km routes. The event included warm-up sessions, comprehensive safety briefings, lead bikes and motor marshals along the course, and medical support on standby. Runners of all paces participated, from competitive athletes to families with children and colleagues running together. Post-race festivities included Zumba sessions, kids' carnival games, food trucks, and lunchboxes for all participants.
Dubai Centre for Special Needs (DCSN) winter fair

Continuing on Deriv’s previous collaboration with DCSN back in July, on 21 November, volunteers from Deriv's Dubai office spent the day setting up the winter fair to spread Christmas joy. The team prepared decorations, booths, and activities for children with special needs. Deriv also donated digital supplies that the centre needed to support its programmes.
Dubai run

On 23 November, the Deriv team joined 307,000 runners on Sheikh Zayed Road for the Dubai Run, part of what organisers describe as the largest free community running track on the planet. Participants ran past iconic landmarks, including the Museum of the Future and Burj Khalifa, with the Deriv team celebrating at the finish line before continuing their ongoing StepUp Challenge.
Cardiac rehabilitation programme, Malaysia

On 29 November, the final phase of a cardiac rehabilitation programme took place in Selangor, Malaysia, which Deriv supported as a CSR initiative. One hundred people participated in the event, with cardiac patients walking or running 1.6 kilometres while relatives and community members completed a 3-kilometre course.
